Stories: Hidden Corners
I love to travel. I love to travel in Mexico. And while being a Dad with a daughter in “situation-induced” at-home video schooling, getting away from home doesn’t happen often.
So…one getaway that is easily done from our fair city is…Yelapa…only accessible by boat. We drive (you can also take the bus) to Boca de Tomatlán where the water taxis take you from the pier to all southern bay coastal destinations. Yelapa is the largest and possibly the best known for its history in the world of art and music.
Walk the curving streets up the hill and down the dale. Visit with the people in the local stores, restaurants and cafes. Ask what’s going on, you might be surprised. There might be yoga classes, dance, art or live music. Or just take the walk through town to the waterfall. Enjoy the cool water, have a drink or snack with the view.
